13+ Workplace Factors Toolkits | MARCH 2022 19 BACK TO CONTENTS FACTOR 9: WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT If you are interested in improving workload management in your workplace, WSPS has carefully curated a selection of resources for you to explore: On the Agenda is a free series of workshop materials and facilitator tools created by Workplace Strategies for Mental Health to help you address all 13 workplace factors. Use Putting Workload Management on the Agenda to focus on factor 9, workload management. The Eisenhower urgency-importance matrix developed by former president Dwight Eisenhower is a method for prioritizing tasks by urgency and importance. This quick video explains how to manage your tasks with Eisenhower and how it can be used in a workplace setting to manage your workload. An important part of a manager's job is making sure work is distributed in an equitable way. This means delegating with forethought and planning, considering realistic expectations based on current workload and working styles. This Harvard Business Review article titled Make Sure Your Team's Workload is Divided Fairly explains some strategies to help divide tasks with these considerations in mind.
