18 13+ Workplace Factors Toolkits | MARCH 2022 BACK TO CONTENTS FACTOR 9 WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT When our workload is managed efficiently, we feel enough control over our day to accomplish the tasks required within the time provided. Positive workload management allows us to feel energized and valued by a reasonable amount of demand for our skills. Even when work gets challenging, employees will still be able to thrive if they are given the flexibility to navigate these demands within reason and to manage in a way that works for them and the organization. From an organizational perspective, an important management responsibility is to act as a helpful workload coach, considering current workload before assigning new tasks and discussing solutions with employees when workload becomes too high. Remember, open communication between leadership and frontline workers is a key component of managing workload efficiently.
