7.2 Conditions for Safe Storage
Container must be kept tightly closed in a cool, dry and well
ventilated place.
Store away from heat and sources of ignition.
Store only where temperature will not exceed 52 °C (125.6 °F).
Recommended storage temperature is 15-25 °C (59-77 °F).
Storage area must have signage indicating "NO SMOKING &
NO OPEN FLAMES".
Keep locked up or in an area where only authorized personnel
can access.
Keep containers stored upright and secure during transport.
Protect containers. Do not drag, roll, slide or drop. May
become projectile hazard if dropped.
Use a first-in first-out inventory system to prevent storing
containers for long periods.
This area provides the following information:
Conditions for Safe Storage: specific actions or measures that must be
taken to minimize adverse harm associated with storage of the hazardous
product. This may also include descriptions relating to chemical reaction
hazards or incompatibilites that must be avoided when storing the material.
In this example, some of the following safe handling instructions are
particularly noteworthy:
– Product is temperature sensitive and has specific storage requirements.
– May become a projectile hazard if dropped.
– Storage area must have appropriate signage because it is flammable
and explosive.
– Ignition sources must be controlled.
– Must be stored in an area with controlled access.
