It is essential that proper work practices be utilized to ensure grinder and chipper operations are undertaken in a safe manner. Prevention Points Fuels are a common cause of fire in our industry. Consider these prevention tips before handling fuels: Review the General Health & Safety Best Practices section on page 11 before performing any task. Shut down equipment before removing clogged materials or making adjustments. Disengage clutch, remove the key and lockout controls. Refer to original equipment manufacturer.
