© 2026, WSPS.CA 25
Allow the chainsaw to idle without the saw rotating.
Use a rope pulley system to lift a chainsaw, if operating at
heights, e.g. trees.
Kickback can occur if the end of the chainsaw nose strikes an
object. Keep a clear area in front of the chainsaw while cutting.
Run the chainsaw at maximum RPM output when cutting and
do not reduce the speed until complete.
Never leave a running chainsaw unattended.
Always store chainsaws with blade cover on to protect the
blade and workers.
Leg protection must be BNQ/CAN standard (1961.45).
