Ensure the vehicle is equipped with a slow-moving vehicle
(SMV) sign when traveling on roadways and use proper hand
signals when stopping or turning. Sound horn at blind turns.
Be alert for changing terrain or other hazards.
Only carry a passenger on ATVs designed for two riders.
Work within the equipment's maximum weight capacity.
When hauling loads, check to see that nothing obstructs the
drivers' view and loads are securely in place.
If possible, avoid operating vehicle on steep slopes.
Never leave a vehicle unattended while running or with the key
in the ignition.
It is recommended to park the vehicle on level ground without
blocking pathways, entrances/exits or doorways.
Before fuelling, refer to the safety data sheet for the
recommended handling and spill containment instructions.
Always use National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
approved non-spill containers with spouts to avoid spillage
and equipped with the appropriate flame arrester. Ensure
to fuel equipment when engine is shut off and cooled.
