Three action steps for consideration:
PRACTISE MENTAL FITNESS – Provide all employees an opportunity
to develop a personalized mental fitness program to enhance
their personal psychological protection. Like personal protective
equipment, this is the last line of defence for psychological health
and safety.
EDUCATE ON MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTIVE DISORDERS – Provide
employees with education and awareness to assist with removing
stigma and facilitate help-seeking behaviours.
INCREASE AWARENESS OF SUICIDE IDEATION – Suicide is one of
the top three causes of death on the planet. Educate to normalize
suicide ideation, provide pathways for help, and encourage talking
and early intervention to save lives at work and in the community.
