GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
When employees receive encouragement and support in the
development of their interpersonal, emotional and technical job
skills, and opportunities for change, there is strong growth and
development. It is important that employees feel they have the
support of leadership to develop and expand their knowledge,
and to foster purpose and drive. This means employees feel that
the organization is supportive of their personal growth, skill
development and career advancement. Opportunities for growth
and development are more likely to enhance employee well-being
and positive perceptions of the workplace when they feel there is
room to grow. As a leader, fostering development means ensuring
that opportunities are not limited to technical skills for the job, but
to personal and interpersonal development as well, including skills
that are critical to caring for the personal development of oneself.
