Toni is a Specialized Consultant and Occupational Hygienist who got hooked on industrial hygiene as a co-op student during her undergraduate studies. She has been committed to making workplaces safer ever since. As an Occupational Hygiene expert, Toni engages with organizations to identify, assess, and provide solutions to control workplace hazards.

I really enjoy talking with workers and employers when completing noise and air assessments to discover potential risks, then providing guidance on how to improve workplace procedures and practices to minimize the risk to worker health and safety. It is very rewarding when an employer takes steps to improve their health and safety program which benefits both workers, and the business.

Toni completed her Master's of Health Science Degree in Occupational and Environmental Health from the University of Toronto and earned both the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) certifications. As a trusted authority in the sector, Toni also engages with students to drive the safety message home.

“It’s gratifying to volunteer in high schools to discuss the responsibilities and rights of young workers. My hope is to support their education regarding working safely and get them thinking about potential hazards they may encounter at work. It is important they realize the profound effect an injury or illness could have on them (and their families) if they are hurt or over exposed to various health hazards in the workplace.”

Returning home safe and healthy at the end of the day is a common goal we all share and Toni believes we all have a role to play in making that happen.
