Jessica Major

Specialized Consultant

As a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Jessica has been providing consulting services to Canadian workplaces since 2016, and has acted in health and safety roles since 2014. She believes the practice of evaluating safety concerns that affect worker health and identifying solutions before they escalate is a process that offers benefits not only at the workplace, but well beyond.

I was attracted to working in health and safety, because the many strategies, methods, and behaviours that are frequently applied in this field can translate to many aspects of life - at work across many industries, but also in the community, and at home.

Certified under the Board for Global EHS Credentialing, Jessica is a member of the Occupational Hygiene Association of Ontario. She has extensive experience in air/surface/bulk sampling for chemical and biological agents, indoor air quality and mould investigations, noise surveys/dosimetry, radiation monitoring, respirator fit testing, and building hazardous materials abatement/remediation.

“I am always excited to visit new workplaces and learn about their processes. Some workplaces may be similar in the types of tasks that are conducted, or the products that are made, but the exposures to various chemical, biological, and physical agents may be quite different. I am inspired by the fact that my actions may have a positive impact on workers, which may ripple into their lives at home, as well as in their communities.”

Prevention is key, Jessica says, to ensure workplaces have a solid foundation to keep workers safe and healthy, every day.
