Lifting, carrying and moving vehicle components and objects every day can strain the muscles and joints, increasing the risk of injury. MSDs: MANUALLY- HANDLED OBJECTS MSDs: AWKWARD POSTURES Awkward postures like reaching overhead or working with arms extended can increase strain on the body. Airborne debris from grinding or cutting operations can cause eye injuries and possible vision loss. AIRBORNE DEBRIS CAUSING EYE INJURY CONTACT WITH FALLING OR STATIC OBJECTS Working around or under vehicles, whether on a hoist, hack or over a lube pit, exposes workers to serious injuries from falling tools or unsecured objects. Working with chemical products for cleaning, maintaining and repairing vehicles and components unsafely can lead to illness. DISPENSING AND HANDLING CHEMICALS CONTACT WITH HIGH- VOLTAGE SYSTEMS Unsafe work with high-voltage equipment or electric vehicle powertrain components can cause life-altering injuries. Working around moving components can cause pinch or crush injuries to the extremities. CONTACT WITH NIP OR PINCH POINTS POOR WALKING SURFACE CONDITIONS OR LAYOUT Liquids or obstructions on the floor can lead to slips, trips or falls. High volume during seasonal periods or working with limited resources could lead to mental harm or burnout.
