Symptoms may be delayed. – Formic Acid Component: • Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically. • Keep victim under observation. Symptoms may be delayed. This area provides information and instruction about circumstances requiring professional medical attention (i.e. hospital, doctor) as well as specific treatments that may be needed after exposure. This includes specific antidotes, contraindications and critical actions medical professionals should take. In general, for the information in SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES to be used effectively, the following measures and procedures must be in place BEFORE an emergency takes place: – Information must be reviewed before commencing work. – Know where copies of the SDS can be found (ex. in event you bring someone to the hospital). – Have available and know locations of first aid facilities, and equipment (ex. first aid kit, eyewash, emergency shower). Ensure they are unobstructed and maintained. – Ensure everyone has access to a list of emergency contacts. – Trained first aiders must be available on every shift. – Know who is trained and available for first aid. – Know locations of nearest medical centres and hospitals. SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES This section describes fire hazards and fire fighting measures specific for the hazardous product.
