Equipment Hazards
?
What types of injuries are possible when using power tools?
!
While not typically fatal, power tools such as saws, drills,
nail guns, sanders, etc., can cause severe enough injuries
to take you away from the job.
Prevention Points
Review the General Health & Safety Best Practices section
on page 11 before performing any task.
All power tools must be sharpened, have proper electrical
grounding, and in good working condition at all times.
Disengage all power sources before cleaning or
maintaining equipment.
Check the electrical cord regularly for cuts or wear.
Keep the cord behind you at all times to avoid clipping
it. Leave enough slack for normal work motion.
Use both hands to hold and guide tools.
