What is the importance of wearing the proper personal protective equipment? What types of injuries are possible when using a power edger? ! Safe handling and awareness of proper use of any powered edger can prevent injuries such as being struck by an object the edge hits and throws up. Prevention Points Review the General Health & Safety Best Practices section on page 11 before performing any task. Avoid using equipment on gravelled surfaces. If your power edger strikes a foreign object, stop operation, disconnect the spark plug wire, and inspect the unit for damage.
