teen
support
(without getting on their nerves)
Before they start
Visit their workplace to better understand the environment
where they'll be spending their time and learn more about
the people they'll be working with.
First day jitters
Show them you care and keep lines of communication open.
Send a quick text, funny GIF or meme they can discover on
their break. Let them know you're thinking of them.
One month in
Find out how they've settled in by asking open-ended
questions and referring to stories they've told you about
a co-worker, task or customer.
Milestone markers
Take them out after a shift to celebrate.
This gives them an opportunity to reflect on their
experiences, good and bad, at work so far.
