DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Then you have a duty to ensure your team's safety. Are You a Boss? Post Display OHSA & safety policies. Equip Provide and monitor safety gear. Teach Conduct safety education. Lead Appoint skilled supervisors. In Case of Medical Emergency Provide necessary medical information. Champion JHSC Create/support your Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC). Provide safety education Teach employees how to look out for themselves and others. Report Sharing Share JHSC report results. Enforce the Age Rule Adhere to hiring age limits and prohibit those under legal age from the worksite. Safeguard Implement protection for all workers. Improve Sustain safety program. Comply with OHSA 26 Follow requirements as needed. As an employer, you're also required to Choose HSR Workers, not bosses, should pick a Health and Safety Representative. (OHSA Section 8) JHSC Formation Got 20 or more workers? Have an order under Section 33? Working with certain designated substances? Time for a JHSC. (OHSA Section 9) Respond Promptly Reply in writing within 21 days to health and safety recommendations from the JHSC or HSR.
