All rights reserved. 26 CONCLUSION After four years, we've seen that the business case for improving health and safety just keeps getting stronger, and it's clear employers and employees share a desire to create healthier workplaces. Employers want to take care of the well-being of employees, and employees are looking for employers who are committed to keeping them physically and psychologically safe. As the saying goes, you can't boil the ocean. You don't want to take on too much or tax your team by trying to fix everything at once, but incremental improvements can profoundly impact your business and the employee experience. Take advantage of the many tools, resources, and experts that are available to help you on your journey, and remember the lessons that this year's survey provides: 1. Invest in health and safety if you want to attract and keep employees and improve business success and sustainability. 2. Promote your commitment to health and safety so that recruits, existing employees, and customers know how important it is to you. 3. Have regular conversations with employees about what is working, what's not, and what matters to them. 4. Drive fear out of the workplace so employees feel supported and secure coming forward with concerns and suggestions. 5. Co-create solutions to risks and challenges with your employees and be open to new opportunities and innovations. 6. Evaluate, evaluate, evaluate. Identify what you want to assess and determine what success looks like. Don't try to measure everything all at once and use available tools and resources to help you. 7. Don't overcomplicate things. Pick an area of focus and work at a pace that makes sense for your business. 8. Don't place the burden of resilience on employees' shoulders. Work with them to redesign how you work to mitigate the risk of stress and burnout. 9. Don't let the important lessons of the past four years go to waste. Be ready for another crisis. 10.
