HOW TO STAY SAFE STOP and look for dangerous situations THINK about what you need to do to stay safe ACT to stay safe 1 2 3 This project is funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs LIST OF HAZARDS (clockwise from top left): hot sun (risk of sunburn); car speeding over crest of hill (limited visibility); cyclist riding without helmet; child flying a kite near hydro wires (electrocution risk); kids playing road hockey with car nearby; man climbing ladder with broken rungs, not paying attention and not keeping three points of contact with ladder while climbing; shovel and rake lying on ground (tripping hazard); frayed cord on power tool (electrocution risk); grease fire on barbecue with no fire extinguisher nearby; used needles lying on grass; parent talking on phone while child plays unsupervised in wading pool (drowning risk); possibly poisonous snake in grass; child hanging from tree branch risks falling on stump below; wasp's nest in tree (risk of stings); child being lured into stranger 's car; sand toys under swing pose hazard as child jumps off; angry unknown dog could have rabies; man mowing grass without hearing protection and proper footwear, and without checking for loose rocks or obstructions; fence board on ground with nails sticking out.
