It is the proactive identification, assessment and control of these hazards that model positive protection of physical safety. Workplaces that take appropriate action to address physical hazards are creating a more psychologically safe workplace in the process in making employees feel safe. Employees who perceive the workplace as physically safe are more likely to feel more secure and engaged while at work. This is supported with sufficient training, timely response to and investigation of incidents, proper equipment and processes to complete work safely and an open line of communication to relay concerns about physical safety.
