14 13+ Workplace Factors Toolkits | MARCH 2022 BACK TO CONTENTS FACTOR 7 Employees are more likely to produce high quality work when they feel that the effort they put into the work is appreciated and valued. Where recognition and reward are present in an organization, employees are given appropriate acknowledgement and recognition for their work in a fair and timely way. This doesn't mean that every employee needs to be recognized for every action, but that employees in the workplace feel that what they do matters and is valued. It is important to also remember that people like to be recognized in different ways – big and small – and to ask the person how they would like to be recognized. Where employees feel their work is appreciated and contributes to the overall success of the organization, they will be more motivated to excel, more confident in their own work and more encouraged to continue to deliver high quality work.
