28 13+ Workplace Factors Toolkits | MARCH 2022 BACK TO CONTENTS FACTOR 13+ OTHER CHRONIC STRESSORS AS IDENTIFIED BY EMPLOYEES While there are 13 Workplace Factors outlined in the National Standard, organizations should also look at ways to identify and address other chronic stressors specific to their workplace. These stressors exist in the way work is organized and employees are managed, or simply by the higher-stress environments or potentially traumatic nature of some work. Emerging research shows necessary focus should be paid to topics such as self-care, social connections and isolation, and protection from moral distress. In addition, you are encouraged to engage with employees and determine what stressors, when addressed, would prevent psychological harm and promote psychological safety in your workplace.
