All rights reserved. 14 GLOBAL PANDEMIC Half of the survey respondents identified the pandemic as their number one business challenge over the past year. Organizations that were ill-prepared and forced to shift focus to health and safety amidst a crisis will undoubtedly work hard to avoid this level of exposure and vulnerability in the future. Frequently changing and often confusing legislation and regulations spurred a sharp incline in the number of businesses paying attention to legislative compliance. Compliance was identified as the second driver for improving health and safety by 73% of respondents. The number of Leading organizations reporting a focus on compliance jumped from 53% in 2019 to 75% in 2020. The vast majority ( 82%)of respondents report they have been focused on implementing health and safety protocols during the pandemic. The top three areas of focus: 1   Additional cleaning 86% 2   Provision of PPE 86% 3   Work arrival screening 66%
