Providing critical answers With each passing day of the pandemic, new challenges were presented and new questions about workplace safety arose. Working with government and industry, WSPS has been at the forefront of continually providing answers through a wide range of digital resources such as articles on best practices, checklists, webinars and conferences, videos, posters, guidance documents, psychological safety blog posts, and the Small Biz Safety podcast. Topics addressed included decontamination of work surfaces, workplace screening, ventilation, mental health considerations, ergonomics and remote work, reopening guidance and many more. Businesses helping businesses From the onset of the pandemic, WSPS' ten subsector advisory committees, consisting of leaders from over 120 businesses in Ontario's agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors, resolved to make their voices of stewardship heard across the province. As we work to support economic recovery, the pandemic checklists and sector-specific guidelines freely available on the WSPS website are a great resource to share with business owners. The information helps businesses consider and plan for health and safety needs as they resume operations and look to the future. — AUDREY ANSELL, Municipality of Chatham-Kent A year like no other
