Safety Connection | Not Part of The Job : Protecting Workers from Violence and Harassment
Social service workers are at an increased risk of violence and harassment due to the public nature of their work and the challenging circumstances faced by those they support. They often deal with individuals who are in distress, crisis, experiencing poor mental health or substance use disorders. Sometimes, clients have a known history of violence and harassment. This session will address the growing threats of workplace violence and harassment, such as uncivil, disrespectful, and abusive behaviours, faced by social workers.
