Former Mayor of the City of Greater Sudbury
Marianne has over 30 years of health and safety, political and business experience in several roles, including the first elected female and former Mayor of the City of Greater Sudbury and inaugural Chief Administrative Officer of the Centre for Research in Occupational Safety and Health (CROSH).
She is a business graduate from Cambrian College and holds Canadian Registered Safety Professional, Certified Health and Safety Consultant and Certified Lead Auditor designations. She is also a Certified Nutrition Manager. As the principal consultant of M. Matichuk & Associates, she continues her work in health and safety and government relations.
In 2017, Marianne was appointed as governor for the board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals and sits on the board for the Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation. She is also the president of Business & Professional Women of Greater Sudbury.
For her work, she has received the Health and Safety Ontario Leadership Award of Merit, the Greater Sudbury Police Services Award of Appreciation, and the Huntington University Award of Merit. She has also been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities for her service to Greater Sudbury and all of Canada.
