Protect your business and your people with WSPS support
In every business, materials come into the workplace, get moved around, and are sent out. But with the movement of materials, comes risks to workers.
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) is conducting a Material Handling campaign to help reduce these risks. Running April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024, the initiative is focused on facilities or operations where large or bulky materials, articles or things are lifted, carried, or moved. Inspections of manufacturing and agricultural facilities are underway.
In addition to free tools and resources, WSPS is pleased to offer manufacturing, agriculture or service-based businesses in Ontario help to identify material handling hazards and recommend strategies to reduce risks at no cost.

Workplace walk-through with a safety expert
One of our safety professionals will perform a walk-through of your business to identify material handling related hazards and offer preliminary recommendations.
“Ask the Expert” virtual sessions
Free online interactive small group sessions are being held so you can get your material handling questions answered by one of our experts. You can choose the topic area of most interest to you, including ergonomics (musculoskeletal disorders), machine safety and guarding, pedestrian safety and more.
