WSPS is a Chief Prevention Office (CPO) approved training provider. In our effort to ensure every worker is healthy and safe, every day, WSPS now offers virtual training via Adobe Connect.
WSPS Virtual Solutions allow participants to learn from anywhere and offer an interactive learning experience that shares many of the benefits of in-person training.
What is Virtual Classroom Training?
Virtual Classroom Training is an interactive learning experience that provides the same benefits of in-person classroom training, but participants can join from anywhere that is convenient for them. Instruction is delivered in real time by a live facilitator over an internet based platform. Participants engage with the facilitator and one another through audio and, where appropriate, via a web camera.
WSPS offers two different ways to experience virtual classroom training:
- Virtual Classroom Training - Public. This is a session with participants from different organizations. All enrolled participants experience training via the same virtual classroom at the same time.
- Virtual Classroom Training - Private. This is a session with multiple participants from a single organization. All enrolled participants experience training via the same virtual classroom at the same time.
Why choose Virtual Classroom Training?
Virtual Classroom Training offers more convenience for our valued customers. These interactive learning experiences provide the same benefits of in-person training, but with the ability to learn from anywhere and the added bonus of no mileage, and travel time (employees can go right back to work afterwards), while maintaining physical distancing during COVID-19.
Can my employees actually learn in a Virtual Classroom Training environment?
Classroom engagement can still be fostered in a virtual classroom environment, as participants will all be in session at the same time, engaging online discussions via a chat forum, and interactive polls. This virtual environment allows participants to connect and learn from each other, all the while being guided by the instructor who will be using a webcam throughout the training.
As an employer, how can I ensure my employee(s) is attending and learning?
All Virtual Classroom Training has an instructor present who will take attendance. If someone who is registered does not attend, we will let you know of their absence.
Throughout our Virtual Classroom Training we provide knowledge checks, such as quizzes and activities that all participants must complete.
Will participants need to download Adobe Connect?
As a participant in a virtual training session organized by WSPS, you are required to download and test the Adobe Connect meeting room application prior to your scheduled training. The installation link for the Adobe Connect application is pointed to a trusted safe source, Adobe, the software provider and not a third-party. Installation of the app does not require administrative privileges; however, we realize that there may be instances where network environments will not allow applications to be installed by all users.
Note: Upon registration you will receive email confirmation containing classroom access and application installation details.
What to expect?
After purchasing your training, an email will be sent to the participant(s) 48-hours prior to the course start date with the Adobe Connect link that will provide them access to our virtual classroom. Participants are asked to log in with their first and last name. In the event that they have not provided their full name at log in, the instructor will verify full name during attendance.
Can I attend on my phone or tablet?
Yes; however for the best experience it is recommended that you use a desktop or laptop for training. To attend a webinar on your phone or tablet, use the Adobe Connect app or enter via your browser. For additional support, please refer to Adobe Connect Mobile help site.
Will I be required to call or dial-in?
Yes, participants will be required to dial into the phone number provided or have Adobe Connect dial-out to them once they have logged into the virtual classroom. Complete instructions will be provided in the 48-hour confirmation email.
