The requirement to conduct a Pre-Start Health & Safety Review (PSR) is triggered by different workplace situations ranging from machinery, flammables and combustibles to racking, dust collectors and lifting devices. This Summit will address the potentially vulnerable aspects of your organization's manufacturing processes and discuss solutions that best support the PSR process. Bring your questions and ask the experts!

Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews: Understanding Your Rights

Employers remain confused by the legal requirements when a new or modified equipment and/or process is put into place. Not to mention, understanding the legal language, the triggers and exemptions of PSRs can be challenging.

This session will discuss the PSR requirements set out in the OHSA (Section 7), emphasize best practice approaches for integration, and answer any questions to ensure you are in compliance.

Practical Challenges of Complex PSRs

Occupational Hygiene Applications of PSRs

This presentation will provide some guidance and resources for completing Occupational Hygiene PSR under Ontario Regulation 851/1990, Section 7, specific to Item 8 in the table. Both exposure assessment and modeling strategies will be discussed.

Good Practices for Flammable and Combustible Liquids

What defines a flammable liquid? What are the control measures required by the Ontario Fire Code and NFPA Standards? This session will discuss the importance of PSRs as it relates to flammable and combustible liquids and clarify PSR terminology, handling, storage practices, documentation and more.
