Putting up stages, tents and other temporary structures for summer festivals, rib-fests and musical events needs to be done properly.
People have been injured and died in Ottawa, Toronto and other locations around the world when these structures have collapsed.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) has posted a new guideline that addresses the design, planning, erection/construction, maintenance and disassembly of temporary structures. Following the guidelines can prevent injuries and save lives.
You can help!
Share the guideline with organizations in your community that are planning a summer event.
Or, call the MOL Health and Safety Contact Centre at 1-877-202-0008 if temporary structures exist or are being planned in your community.
