group sessionExplore solutions to core and emerging health and safety challenges close to home by attending one of five WSPS regional events organized by local WSPS staff and industry experts.

Every fall, WSPS regional conferences bring health and safety right to your doorstep. It's a chance for you to learn, share and network, get inspired by keynote speakers, and find out how local products and services can help your business.

If your business is located in eastern, southeastern and southwestern Ontario, sign up now for October's Partners in Prevention (PIP) regional events: conferences in Ottawa and Kitchener, and a new one-day symposium in Sudbury. Two more events, in southern and northern Ontario, take place in November.

These popular events offer practical solutions to top health and safety priorities, from core hazards to emerging issues. Space is limited so register yourself or your team today.

October highlights

The hot button issue of workplace mental health is a common thread through all three October events. And no wonder. It's the #1 workforce risk as ranked by 85% of employees, and accounts for 30% of disability claims and 70% of disability costs. Sessions deal with reducing stigma, taking action through psychological health and safety programs, arming employees to deal with trauma in their lives, and more.

Here are session highlights for each event.

Partners in Prevention, Eastern Ontario (October 3-4, Ottawa)

Special events: Mock Accident Investigation and Coroner's Inquest. Other sessions cover such high priority issues as Marijuana in the Workplace: A Balancing Act, Creating Mental Well-Being Through a Positive Culture, and much more.

Keynote speakers: author, research director and health law lawyer Tim Caulfield, who debunks common health myths and provides practical evidence-based information on how to live a healthy lifestyle, and Michael Landsberg, host of TSN’s "Off the Record," who will share his own struggles and triumphs with mental illness.

Northeastern Ontario OH&S Symposium (October 12, Sudbury)

Special event: Mock Coroner's Inquest. Here's a sampling of other session topics: Ontario's new noise regulation, occupational vibration, and enhancing your JHSC's effectiveness.

Keynote speaker: Kevin Rempel, Paralympic medalist and author, on managing change.

Partners in Prevention, Southwestern Ontario (October 25, Kitchener)

Special event: The Escape Room, a fun, interactive and educational method of ensuring that training sticks. Gain actionable insights from sessions on OH&S implications of legalizing marijuana, psychological safety at work, rescue planning and PPE for working at heights, secrets of high performing JHSCs, and more.

Keynote speakers: Tim Caulfield and Michael Landsberg.

Trade shows a special feature

Both the Ottawa and Kitchener events feature trade shows where you can meet local vendors and gain valuable knowledge on new products and best practices. You might even win a prize.
