Apr 03, 2014

Learn and LeadTaking action, making a difference, implementing change… how do we do this day to day in our own workplaces? At Partners in Prevention 2014 Health & Safety Conference & Trade Show, find out from session leaders - CEOs, managers, health and safety coordinators - how they do it and how you can empower yourself and others. Then tour the 400-exhibit trade show for new products and services to help you get it done.

Identifying ways people can take personal action is a common theme of many sessions, including "Start with Safety: Improve Your Productivity by Building a Safety Culture," led by Steve Borengasser, Efficient Workplace Leader for Kimberly-Clark. During the session, Borengasser will share his experiences as an operations team leader for Kimberly-Clark's Huggies diaper business as it went through a safety transformation. "At the same time we were improving safety our productivity was going up, in part because we were engaging workers to solve safety and efficiency problems in their day-to-day jobs."

Still with Kimberly-Clark, Borengasser now works directly with manufacturing clients. "We go into their facilities and identify waste and hazards in their industrial supply usage, and help them problem solve." This has given Borengasser additional experience to share at Partners in Prevention. "Delegates will leave the session with ideas on how they can empower workers in their organization to solve safety and productivity problems, and in the process encourage these workers to make a personal commitment to their own safety and the safety of people around them."

Borengasser's session is one of many that can help you explore opportunities for personal leadership. Here are more:
