HSO website: accessing resources now easier, fasterA round of improvements to the Health & Safety Ontario (HSO) and Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) websites enhances your ability to locate, access and purchase essential health and safety resources. HSO comprises four partner organizations, including WSPS, that serve Ontario's 236,000 businesses.

Among the new features are the following:

  • A centralized information, product and resource catalogue. Save time and effort accessing industry-specific solutions courtesy of a new online catalogue containing WSPS and other associations' resources. On the HSO or WSPS home page, clicking on "Resources" will take you to a list of health and safety topics, each of which can help you find products, training, e-learning, webinars, e-documents, articles, downloads, videos, research and much more in one convenient location.
  • A search function for WSPS training by postal code, allowing you to quickly identify training opportunities within 150 kilometres or less.
  • One shopping cart. Previously, purchasing health and safety solutions from more than one HSO member organization involved multiple website searches and separate orders. Now, with the HSO website’s new centralized shopping cart, you can move seamlessly from a search of all HSO solutions to one single shopping cart and order submission process.
  • "My Account." Create personalized profile(s) to remember you, your organization and/or specific employees, so that you can track previous orders and e-documents, view online assessment results, and tailor user experience of online communities and forums.
  • Online communities and forums. Network with peers and industry experts, share information, and develop health and safety best practices in various online communities.
  • Mobile app. Health and safety information is also now closer than ever with the introduction of a mobile app for your smartphone. The app displays real-time updates and allows users quick access to the HSO website's resources.

The two websites also provide a tool for translation into multiple languages and are Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act equipped.

These changes are part of Health & Safety Ontario's commitment to offer "one door" access to centralized prevention system resources. The changes are also part of WSPS's goal to put health and safety solutions within reach of every employer and employee in Ontario.
