To initiate an assessment, simply complete this online form and a WSPS representative will contact you within two business days.

Hazard Identification & preliminary Risk Assessment (HIpRA)
For federally regulated employers, the duty to have a documented methodology for hazard identification and assessment has been a specific requirement of the Canada Labour Code since 2005. This requirement is established by Part XIX of the Canadian Occupational Health & Safety Regulations (COHSR) titled Hazard Prevention Program (HPP).

In Canada, CSA Z1002-12 "Occupational health and safety - Hazard identification and elimination and risk assessment and control" sets the foundation for adequate risk assessment process. The HIpRA service is designed to be a customer facilitated general review of the major occupations conducted in the workplace. Information on hazards and risks will be amassed by internal and external document reviews, interviews of competent persons familiar with the work tasks and an onsite visit to validate initial HIRA findings.

Detailed Job Task Analysis
Detailed Job Task Analysis (JTA) is a key prevention activity that is designed to identify task specific hazards so that they can be eliminated or controlled before an injury or illness might occur. This activity focuses on a single job task specifically rather than a preliminary HIRA which has a broader focus on all occupations employed at the workplace(s). Customers find JTA activities beneficial particularly for high risk job tasks or tasks which result in reoccurring injuries or illness.

Confined Space Assessments
Federal workplaces, Part XI of the Canada Occupational Health & Safety Regulations sets out the requirements for confined space entry that an employer must respect prior to allowing any person to enter upon the space. In tandem with key customer stakeholders WSPS consulting services professionals will review the workspace in question and provide a competent hazard assessment of the confined space.

Audits/GAP Analysis

Health & Safety Program Audit
The audit will assess a Federally Regulated employer's program against predetermined criteria to show where compliance with Canada Labour Code has been established by the customer. The comprehensive audit tool was built so that it can be applied as a complete audit or in sections specific to the customer's needs.

Work Place and Policy Committee Assessments
Workplace and Policy Committee Representatives play an important role in keeping customer workplaces healthy and safe. This service is designed to ensure the committee is both effective and in conformance to the requirements of the Canada Labour Code, Part II and the Policy Committees, Work Place Committees and Health and Safety Representatives Regulation.

HPP GAP Analysis
The Hazard Prevention Program (HPP) Gap Analysis is a proactive process used by any organization to determine if their current OHS program is aligned to Part XIX of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulation under the Hazard Prevention Program.

Work Place Violence Prevention Program Gap Analysis
The Work Place Violence Prevention Program (VPP) Gap Analysis is a proactive process used by any organization to determine if their current OHS program is aligned to Part XX of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (COHSR) under Violence Prevention in the Work Place.

"The Effective Investigator" - Hands-on accident training to help keep your company safe

"Many workplace accident investigations miss critical information, says Alain Langlais, WSPS Director, Eastern Region. Even experienced investigators can be fazed by the chaos and pressure of an accident scene. "It's easy to flounder and lose track of priorities. But if you don't get it right, you lose evidence and you may never find out what happened."
